Installing Internet Information Services for Windows XP (Home and Professional)
     Installing Internet Information Services

Tools required to install Internet Information Services:

  • Windows XP Installation CD

 

  1. Installing Internet Information Services
  2. Configuring Internet Information Services
    1. Accessing the IIS Snap-In
    2. Welcome to the IIS Snap-In
  3. Installing ActiveState PERL
    1. Installing package DBI and DBD-MySQL
Windows XP CD-ROM Autorun Menu  
1.) Insert the Windows XP Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. An authentic Windows XP CD-ROM with automatically start the following screen:

2.) Click on Install Optional Windows Components

Windows Component Wizard  
3.) Highlight Internet Information Services, then click on Details...

4.) Make sure that the following items are check marked:

  • Common Files
  • Internet Information Services Snap-In
  • World Wide Web Service

5.) Highlight World Wide Web Service, then click Details... Make sure that the following items are check marked:

  • World Wide Web Service

6.) Click OK until you return to the Windows Component Wizard

7.) Click Next then Windows XP will install the components that were selected. Internet Information Services is now finished installing. To complete the installation, click Finish when prompted.
